I think most of us can agree that this year has been very difficult not being able to travel. We’ve had to move our holiday more than once, and I know plenty have had to deal with full cancellations. Obviously all reasoning behind travel being on hold at the moment is completely understandable, but it still kind of sucks right?
Despite no one really travelling much in the past 6 months however, I’ve still been devouring travel content through various platforms. Some old content, some new. Here are some of my latest favourites.
Flying the Nest – Stephen & Jess
Most of their travel content lives on the Flying the Nest YouTube channel, but of course they are on Instagram too both individually and with a FTN account. Stephen and Jess have SO many travel videos to binge watch, and they definitely help to give inspiration and travel ideas when you can’t go anywhere.
They’ve recently had a baby so their content has changed ever so slightly, but their content is still as beautiful and interesting as ever. Honestly always in awe at the shots they get and experiences they have whilst travelling.

CheapHolidayExpert – Chelsea
Chelsea is very active on Instagram @cheapholidayexp, and shares so much information on travel. That includes places to visit, foods to try, saving money, finding cheap flights, activities/excursions, hotel room deals and more recently all the Covid-19 and insurance information she can find.
Honestly, her Instagram stories are so helpful. She has recently created the Cheap Holiday Expert website and also documents her travels on youtube here too.
Hand Luggage Only – Yaya & Lloyd
I’ve discovered the HandLuggageOnly Instagram first and, of course, I just loved seeing all the pretty places they were visiting and their travel photos are great. They also have a blog though and have SO many informative posts about their travels. You’ll definitely coming away with many more places you need to visit.

Women Who Travel Podcast
This is quite a new find for me, but one I’ve really been enjoying. The topics covered on Women Who Travel are very varied. For example, some of the latest titles include ‘How Travel Taught Me to Love My Body’, and ‘Author Yaa Gyasi on the Ghana Trip that Inspired Homegoing’ to ‘The Reality of Being a Digital Nomad’ and ‘How One Adventurer Spent 293 Days Alone at Sea’.
I think there really is something for everyone who likes travel within this podcast. The episodes tend to be around 30-40 minutes as a majority, however some are shorter or longer, and they are really easy to listen to. There’s also a lot of written content to dig into on their website.

Kirsty – PlusSizeTravelToo
Kirsty’s main account is where she documents her own travels, and posts some great video content too. She also runs PlusSizeTravelToo sharing plus size content creators and really helping to spread the message that you don’t have to be a certain size to enjoy travel. Everyone can and should do what they want to do.
I’ve loved Kirsty’s travel content for ages anyway and her blog is great but I have learnt a lot from this newer venture, and it’s great to see so many people benefiting from it too.
Chantel – Voyaging Vagabond
Chantel’s instagram is so, so colourful. I also find her captions really thought-provoking and/or interesting to read. Quite often learn something when browsing through! She talks about body positivity, confidence and just brings a lot of general life conversation into her posts.
Eva zu Beck
A very recent find, but a great one. Eva’s videos are beautiful, and her storytelling just captures you so easily. She’s travelled around a lot of countries and places that seem far out of reach for me, and ones I’d never even have thought of so it’s really interesting to see that kind of travel. In fact, her instagram bio actually says ‘I visit places you won’t see in mass travel media’.
So yeah, a great channel to subscribe to if you want to see travel content that’s just a little different to the ‘norm’. A recent video I enjoyed is this one:
