Buying gifts for someone can be difficult when you’re wanting to get them that something a little bit different. Something they’re not likely to have, or to have thought about. It’s great to be able to give a friend or loved one a little surprise.
As we’re heading into the main season of gift-giving, I thought I’d share a few of my recent finds.
Adventurous Prints
I love a good print. You can really bring any room to life with a piece of art, and it’s always great finding new artists to purchase from and support their skills.
Most of my finds have been discovered on Instagram, but I’m finding a lot of the shops also on etsy. I think Instagram is a great place to start when hunting down cool artwork though, you can find some real gems!
In From The Wild is a shop I discovered through Instagram, and their shop is brilliant for all kinds of outdoorsy prints. Lots of mountains, walking routes and hiking challenges to choose from. I’ve got my eye on a few! I think they’re a really unique style and sure to be a talking point. I think the big sellingpoint is how minimalist they are in style – it means they will effortlessly just fit into most decor.
Other shops I’ve discovered with cool prints include:
Typelab – They do really cool travel related prints. There’s a massive range of countries from all around the world, so there’s sure to be somewhere relatable.
HeatherLucyJ – This shop has some really pretty illustrations that are mostly nature themed. I love these two: birdwatching & hiking.
LucyLovesThis – Some brilliant location prints using the first letter, including countries, cities and towns. This Amsterdam one is really cool.
Stickers/Patches
Another recent instagram find was Nerd That Draws and I just knew I had to buy some. These are a mixture of climbing an hiking stickers, patches, pins and even mugs! Love their style, and you can get some good bundle deals too.

Adventure Pins – Sister company to the above, here you can grab a wide range of pins relating to the outdoors.
Best Boulders – For climbing related stickers, and some cool keyrings too.
Clothing Ideas for the Keen Traveller
Vivobarefoot – Here you can find a range of shoes that are all barefoot in design, aiming to allow your feet to work as naturally as they are designed to. Plus the company is working with sustainable methods too. I recently reviewed a pair of their Gobi Hemp boots here.
Arcade Belt – Easy gift! These belts are designed to be comfortable and fuctional. They come in various patterns and have a few different styles of buckle/belt material.
Passenger Clothing – Some really great designs on their t-shirts and jumpers, plus they have a ‘Waves & Trees‘ policy where by ordering you are also helping to give something back to nature.
ArtDisco – They have a huge range online, including clothing and things like homeware, but I really love their clothing with the little seahorses!
Gandys – I think mostly known for their backpacks, which are super nice, but you can get clothing too. Whilst their stuff might be a little more on the expensive side for gifting, you know you’re getting quality.

Bits & Bobs
El Camino Bracelet
All of the El Camino bracelets and necklaces are handmade in the UK. They feel like such good, strong quality – I have no qualms about wearing it travel. This jewellery is made for travelling. come in four different colours – I chose the chestnut brown double.
There are 240 different Country steps to choose from. Then you have the smaller steps such as the New York City one I got and there are also region steps, adventure steps, ocean steps and sea steps. So you really can personalise your bracelet or necklace. You can also get some spacer steps to help separate others. I picked the coconut ones you can see in the top right. If you don’t know exactly which steps someone would want – why not grab them a bracelet or necklace and a gift card too?
I was really impressed with the packaging actually – each step came in the little plastic free bag shown above. The perfect gift for those more eco-conscious travellers. This is a great gift for someone who you know is a little sentimental and likes to keep trinkets and reminders of each place they’ve travelled to.
Books
If you know someone who reads, you really can’t go wrong with buying a book as a gift, or for the traveller in your life – even just a gift voucher. If you look for adventure and travel books, you’ll find a massive range to choose from. A good starting point is obviously looking at the person’s interests.
You could also do an Audible subscription, or a subscription to their favourite magazine.
Anna McNuff comes highly recommended with her books including 50 Shades of the USA and The Pants of Perspective.
Maybe you could grab a Travel Guide for someone who just wants to go explore, or if you have a nature lover why not browse the natural history section?
Food Kits
Know someone who likes to travel and also loves cooking? How about a kit that helps them reminisce about a country they’ve visited?
Sous Chef have a Korean supermarket online section where you can get a variety of different products. I received this Korean cooking kit to help try something new with my meals, but there are also loads of different kinds of gifts you could choose from!
I think they’re a great way to give something a little different. My boyfriend and I made dumplings using a recipe in this book, and used the Gochujang to flavour our mushrooms for the ramen! It’s not something we would have necessarily picked up, so it was good to try something new.
You could also just find their favourite treat that isn’t as readily available in shops!
Chilly’s Reusable Water Bottle

I can confirm, these bottles keep your drinks cold for ages, and they are so worth the money. There are so many designs in the bottles too, so you really can find something to suit anyone’s taste.
I have the New York one because it was a Christmas gift last year telling me we were going to visit. So yeah – also great for a surprise!
