Three of My Favourite Book Covers

I’ll put my hands up and admit it – I will judge a book by it’s cover. How can you not? Like 9 times out of 10, the reason I grab a book is because the cover has caught my attention. Then of course I’ll read the back and decide fully on that. I think if I was a writer the book cover would be something I’d be so worried about because it really is that first big impression that matters. I know I’m not the only one in this! I’ve got quite a few favourites, but here are my top three from my shelf.

We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves

It’s yellow! This is actually one of my all time favourite books, so maybe I’m bias, but I just love the look of this one. The yellow and black contrast is bright and eye catching, and I can’t resist some fancy writing. I love the fonts used on this one. The thing is, it doesn’t really give anything about the story on there which is good. Only because this one has such an unexpected storyline (at least, for me it was!) that I think it’s worth going in completely blind. The blurb doesn’t give too much away either!

A Monster Calls

This cover basically shows what the title says – a monster calling at a house. This book is filled with illustrations, and for me, just seeing the first image makes me want to see more. Seeing the monster stood there, so tall and creepy looking, sets the tone of the book. I know it’s gonna be dark and deep, and I want to read more.

If you didn’t guess by the title and the scales, Talon is about Dragons. I love this cover mainly because the red is such a gorgeous colour, and although you can’t see it hear, the book is sort of foiled and has a texture. It gives an amazing effect when light hits it. It’s different and I just really like that. Also, the title is gold foil. Can you get any better?

Yep. I’m a sucker for good looks… In a book. It helps that these are also books that I really enjoyed. Any favourites here?
