Fitness: Running.

running

Let’s talk about running.

Early morning. You drag yourself out of bed, pulling on running tights and a hoodie as quick as you can in the cold morning, determined to keep in as much heat as possible. Grabbing a quick snack, you pull on your trusty trainers and set your running watch before heading out into the cold. Bliss… Right?

I love running – once I’ve done it. What I struggle with is getting the motivation to get outside and run, something that is only going to be harder as we get closer to the winter months. The plus to this is that Athletics each week will surely motivate me, and I’ve also got a gym membership so, although I don’t particularly like running on a treadmill, I have that as an option.

Anyway, the main point of this post is that I’m thinking about entering into the Great Manchester Run. I say thinking about it, but I’m pretty sure I will do it. Just waiting for payday! I love watching the race on the TV and I just think it would be amazing to take part. I definitely won’t be one of the first (normal!) finishers, but that doesn’t matter.

I’ve run 10k before so I know I’ll be able to do it. Right now my body is so much fitter and stronger than it was back then but I just need to build up my running stamina again. I’ve got 6 months to be the best that I can. If I can do a 10k in under 60 minutes I will be ecstatic. There’s a lot of work to do, but I figure this post will hold me accountable, and I’ll post my progress along the way! So, any tips?! If you’re taking part, let me know! Hey, maybe we can help each other!

(Hey, I even made a photo for this post using a quote I liked and one of my instagram photos! ;) haha!)
