I mentioned in an earlier post that one of the main reasons I was so excited to go to Carlisle was for Lush. Whilst there, I picked up two bath bombs and a bubble bar, and immediately wished I’d bought more… They’re great to add interest to a bath, in both colour and smell, and if you’ve used Lush before, you know that the products usually leave you feeling silky soft and perfectly relaxed. Well I’ve finally tried them all, and here’s what I thought!
LUSH Intergalactic Bath Bomb
Main ingredients are: Peppermint oil, grapefruit oil, vetivert oil and cedarwood oil.
This is a bath bomb that immediately fizzles and gives off gorgeous strong colours and patterns. I’ve seen a lot of people raving about it, so I figured it was time to try and honestly, this bath bomb definitely exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t get a photo that really showed this, but the water was a gorgeous deep blue by the end of the bath and so, so sparkly. It was like actually looking into a galaxy. I thought the scent was also pretty strong, and I could definitely smell and feel the peppermint oil. Not much of anything else mind. As always with Lush, it left my skin feeling lovely and smooth!
LUSH Cinders Bath Bomb
Main ingredients: Almond essential oil, cinnamon leaf oil, sweet orange oil and popping candy
I bought this last year and was a little disappointed with the scent. As cinnamon is my all-time favourite, I thought I would give it a second chance and see if I’d just had a dud. Well, I didn’t have high hopes after reading Becky’s post and yep, I was disappointed too. I did get a really strong blast of citrus when I first put it in, but it was a very quick blast. After that, nothing. No hint of cinnamon at all. It really didn’t smell of anything and the water stayed a pale yellow. The one positive – I did hear the popping candy pop for a few minutes!
LUSH Candy Mountain Bubble Bar
Main ingredient: Fair trade vanilla absolute
This is one that I was really excited to try. Would you believe that I’ve never had anything in this scent?! I know this and the other Snow Fairy scented things are a firm favourite in blogger land, so I finally picked something up. I’m cheap, so I used just under a half for this bath (more than what is in the sieve!) and it got an alright amount of bubbles. I decided to try this genius idea of Lauren’s, and use a sieve to run the bubble bar under the hot tap. Yep, definitely genius. The water turned a very pale pinkish colour so not very exciting, but obviously the bubbles are the exciting bit… The scent? Oh it was delicious. So sweet and creamy smelling, yet not overpowering or sickly. I really liked it, and I think I may use Becky’s idea of buying Snow Fairy shower gel and using it as a bubble bath… Cheaper and not as messy (if you’re like me and try to split the bubble bar…) Yep, I’d definitely go for this scent again.
There are so many Lush products that I haven’t tried yet, especially with the bath bombs. What are your favourites?
