Booktubeathon Reading Challenge

lifeofkitty 5 reasons to use a filofax

This year I decided to take part in Booktubeathon. I’m not a booktuber myself, but I follow lots of them, and I decided that I wanted to take on a challenge. My TBR shelf is still pretty full, as you may already know. So the dates are August 3rd – August 9th. That means yep, it started today! (Midnight, wherever you are from)

I haven’t actually started any books yet, because I was finishing one that I started yesterday. I’m 12 hours in though and that book is done, so time to start on my first one! There are some set challenges, however you don’t really need to follow these ‘rules’. I’ve decided that I will, and I’ve picked out 7 books ready.

#1 Read a book with blue on the cover
#2 Read a book by an author who shares the same first letter of your last name
#3 Read someone else’s favourite book
#4 Read the last book you acquired
#5 Finish a book without letting go of it
#6 Read a book you really want to read
#7 Read seven books

There are also going to be daily challenges on the Booktubeathon Youtube so if you fancy taking part, keep checking it! Lots of books to be won! I probably won’t be doing any of them, seeing as I’m not a fan of putting myself in front of the camera, but who knows – maybe!

#1 My Neighbor Totoro
It has a blue cover. I’ve been wanting to read this for ages, having loved the film (and watched it countless times) and I figured now was the perfect time to get it off my TBR shelf!

#2 Just a Girl, Standing in Front of a Boy.
This was difficult to be honest! I don’t seem to have any unread books with the author’s surname beginning with H! I wanted to buy a couple of books last week anyway, and spotted this in the 3 for £10 deal on Amazon… I’d recently seen a blog review on it so figured why not!

#3 The End of the Wasp Season
This was sent to me in a book swap a year ago, so I guess I’m maybe cheating on this one, but it wouldn’t have been sent if it wasn’t loved, right? This is number two in the series, but more often than not with crime/mystery, long series like this don’t generally require you to read them all. We’ll see anyway!

#4 Extraordinary Means
I read a review about this too, and it was also on the 3 for £10 deal on Amazon! It sounds amazing, and I’m looking forward to this one!

#5 Matilda
I haven’t read any of Roald Dahl’s books for years, and what better book to read without letting go than Matilda eh? This should be a fun one, who knows what I’ll be doing when reading this!

#6 On the Origin of Species
Okay, here’s a bit of a weird one. I’ve been dying to read this for ages, and I haven’t gotten past the first few pages because of the topic. I am expecting my booktubeathon to end here (if I get this far!) but I just really want to make a dent in it!

#7 The Silkworm
This is why I was looking in the 3 for £10 deals… I do really want to read this too, so it’s the 7th book just in case I get this far!

So I’m a bit late getting this up, but I’m excited for the challenge ahead! If I can get just four read, I’ll be very happy!
